Michael Kurth wins Köln-Schuld-Frechen
The team Eddy-Merckx-Indeland has built up the tradition and connection again this year to the classic Köln-Schuld-Frechen race: Michael Kurth won the prestigious race over about 200 kilometers ahead of Ralf Matzka from the Thüringer Energie Team in mass sprint.
„I’m really happy for the boy. He sure deserved it“, explained team manager Markus Ganser after the success. In the past seven years, the team from Stolberg and Eschweiler won this traditional race five times. Also this year, it was always on top of the event as they catched up with the last few bolters 8 kilometers before the finish line. At the finals, Stefan Ganser prepared exemplary the sprint for Michael Kurth – the man from Stolberg just needed to complete and celebrated his biggest success so far.
